Portishead To Debut Album On TV
Portishead is coming out with a new album at the end of the month, but fans can get a preview on April 11 when the British trip-hop group plays eight songs from “Third” in a live show for Current TV.
The programme will be called “Portishead In Portishead,” as the band will be performing in the Somerset town from which they took their name.
The show will be broadcast exclusively on Current TV on April 11 at 10 p.m. (BST), and will be available to watch on the Current TV website for two months afterward.
Portishead have said their third studio LP, and first in more than 11 years, is a departure from previous records.
“It sounds nothing like ‘Dummy’ or ‘Portishead’, but it’s definitely its older brother or sister,” guitarist Adrian Utley told Billboard. “It’s the same mindset we’ve always had, only further down the road.”
“Third” will hit stores on April 28.
