The editor of the LA Times announced today that the paper would be conducting an investigation into the alleged involvement of P.Diddy in Tupac Shakur’s 1994 murder, ew.com reports.

The Times printed a story last week, which referenced FBI documents, which liked the two rap stars. Later on in the week, the Smoking Gun website printed information that the documents were forgeries.

“Questions have been raised about the authenticity of documents that we relied on for a story on the assault of Tupac Shakur in New York. We are taking this very seriously and have begun our own investigation,” Russ Stanton, editor of the Times, said in a statement.

P.Diddy has called the allegations completely false.
