Brangelina’s Sweet Charity
Oprah isn’t the only celeb giving big.
According to tax records, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt donated more than $8.5 million to various charities through the Jolie Pitt Foundation in 2006.
The couple is not one to broadcast their do-gooder ways to the world but tax returns obtained by the Huffington Post expose the Jolie-Pitt’s exorbitant charitable total.
Despite being a relatively new organization, the Jolie Pitt Foundation dished out $8,525,930, in 2006. Pitt gave $4,402,317 while Jolie pitched in with $4,123,613, according to the foundation’s inaugural federal filing.
The couple’s philanthropy proved most beneficial to Doctors Without Borders and the Global AIDS Alliance, each receiving $1 million from the organization. Other charities included in the expenses were the Namibia Red Cross Action Program, the Daniel Pearl Foundation, Global Green USA and the Epidermolysis Bulloma Medical Research Foundation.
