Mariah Carey will fill in for Janet Jackson as this week’s musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.”

Jackson was forced to cancel her scheduled appearance on the NBC show Tuesday after coming down with the flu and visiting a Los Angeles hospital the night before.

“(Janet) did go to the hospital because she’s been battling this crazy flu like everyone else,” the singer’s rep told Access Hollywood. “But, she wasn’t admitted and she is home.”

Jackson was set to perform songs from her most recent album “Discipline,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts last week to become her first number one album in seven years.

Instead, Saturday will mark Carey’s return to the “SNL” stage after last appearing on the show in 1997.

The singer will perform songs from “E=MC2,” her newest album which is set for release April 15.

Hosting this weekend’s “SNL” will be Jonah Hill of “Superbad” fame.
