Writers Strike Officially Over
It is official: the Writers’ Guild of America is back to work to stay.
Reuters is reporting that the WGA has officially ratified the contract offered to them earlier this month, with 93.6 per cent of voters in favour of the new contract.
Patric Verrone, WGA president, called the deal “a new beginning for writers in the Digital Age.”
The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers also issued a statement saying that now that the writers are back at work it is their top priority to create quality work.
The WGA strike put a halt to television and movie production when they went on strike in November.
