Razzies Love Lohan
Lindsay Lohan won’t be honoured at this year’s Academy Awards but the young starlet need not worry; she wasn’t entirely left out of the award season festivities.
The notorious Golden Raspberry Awards (a.k.a. “The Razzies”) gave Lohan an unprecedented and record-breaking eight Razzies.
The 28th annual Razzies announced Hollywood’s worst on Saturday and Lohan was the big “winner” for her critically panned box-office dud “I Know Who Killed Me.”
The film took home wards for worst picture, worst actress, worst screen couple, worst remake or rip-off, worst director, worst screenplay, and the awards’ newest category, worst excuse for a horror movie.
“For a scene in which she appears opposite herself at the film’s finale, Lohan was also Razzed as the year’s Worst Screen Couple,” the Razzies website says according to CTV.ca.
The movie broke the previous Razzies record for most awards won by a single film.
Lohan was not alone in her shame. The Razzies also awarded Eddie Murphy’s “Norbit” with three nods, including worst actor, worst supporting actor and worst supporting actress, all for roles played by Murphy.
Lohan and Murphy were not on hand for the show as it’s usually the norm for actors to skip out on the unflattering ceremony. However, Halle Berry did join the festivities in 2005 as she was recognized for her role in “Catwoman.”
