Jesse L. Martin, who has portrayed Det. Greene on “Law and Order” will exit the series this year, Variety reports.
No reason was given for the exit, although the trade magazine says Anthony Anderson, currently on the Fox show K-Ville will replace him.
Insiders say that Martin will shoot one more episode of the NBC drama this season, before Anderson replaces him. It is being assumed Fox will be canceling K-Ville, freeing up Anderson for the role.
Green will be written out of the show, though insiders are not saying how.
Martin is most well-known for portraying Tom Collins in the original Broadway cast of “Rent.”
