Singer Justin Timberlake will star in indie drama “The Open Road” alongside Jeff Bridges, Mary Steenburgen and Kate Mara.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie will revolve around a young man (Timberlake) who struggles to mend his relationship with his legendary athlete father (Bridges) while he heads home to see his ailing mother (Steenburgen).

Michael Meredith, who wrote the script, will also direct.

The movie will begin shooting this month in Louisiana and other southern U.S. states.

Timberlake has previously appeared in movies like “Alpha Dog” and “Southland Tales,” and can be seen in “The Love Guru” when it hits theatres this June.
