Spice Girls to End Tour In Toronto
Spice Girls fans around the world will not get the chance to see their favourite girl-power group reunite on stage.
The Girls have cut short their reunion tour and announced they will end off with a scheduled appearance in Toronto on Feb. 26.
The announcement was made via the group’s website and confirmed that they would not be making tour stops in China, South Africa, Australia and Argentina as previously planned.
Known to fans as Baby, Ginger, Posh, Sporty and Scary, the girls are citing “family and personal commitments” as the reason for the shortened tour.
The websites statement also said the high-demand for tickets was part of the decision. The group had thousands of requests and offers to play in countries worldwide since announcing its reunion last June.
“No-one could have predicted just how phenomenal the demand was eventually going to be,” the posting said, CBC Online reports. “Spice fever was well and truly back.”
The news isn’t all that bad for North American and European fans however, as more dates have to added, including four shows in Toronto and 17 in London.
