It may have taken three years, but Tokyo Police Club have finally completed their debut album.

The highly-anticipated Elephant Shell LP, set for a late-April release, comes as the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed EPs, A Lesson In Crime and Smith.

“It was as long process but we couldn’t be happier with the outcome,” wrote band manager Rich Cohen on their website Wednesday.

The Newmarket, Ont. indie rock band have been creating buzz since they formed in 2005. Since then, they have toured extensively, contributed to compilations, won awards, and even designed a T-shirt for Playboy.

Currently, the band is touring Ontario.

Tokyo Police Club is also set to play a free show in Nathan Phillips Square tomorrow night, as part of Toronto’s annual WinterCity Festival.
