Rock ‘n’ roll legend Ike Turner died of cocaine overdose last month, according to the San Diego medical examiner’s office.

Turner, who struggled with drug addiction for decades, thought he had won the battle in the 1990’s–but an autopsy report released Wednesday shows he didn’t.

The medical examiner listed “cocaine toxicity” as the main cause of death. Cardiovascular disease and emphysema were also contributing factors.

Turner, the music legend that brought the world hits like “Proud Mary” and “I Want To Take You Higher” with then-wife Tina Turner, was found dead in his home on Dec. 12. He was 76.
