American movie audiences will soon be able to catch the shenanigans of Ricky, Julian and Bubbles, after “Trailer Park Boys: The Movie” finally found a U.S. distributor.
Screen Media will give the film a limited release in the U.S. beginning Jan. 25, with wider release scheduled for Feb. 1.
The film, which opened in October 2006 in Canada, is based on the cult-hit Canadian TV series revolving around the misadventures of the residents of a Nova Scotia trailer park.
The series is not currently airing in the U.S., but the film had its U.S. premiere at the South by Southwest film festival last March.
The Mike Clatternburg-directed movie follows Julian (John Paul Tremblay), Ricky (Robb Wells) and Bubbles (Mike Smith) as they attempt The Big Dirty, a dimwitted plan to steal a vast quantity of untraceable coins.
