The police paid a visit to Britney Spears’ home in Studio City, California, on Thursday night after receiving a call regarding Brit’s reaction to an earlier custodial dispute.
Sure enough, upon arrival, the police discovered a distraught Spears’ in her home, and promptly shipped her off to the hospital via ambulance.
LAPD spokesperson, Officer Jason Lee, explained that Spears had been “taken in for evaluation” because the arriving officers observed the troubled pop star to have been using an unidentified substance.
She was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center just after midnight and placed on “medical hold”. A series of both medical and psychological doctors were sent to check up on Spears throughout the night.
According to E! News, there was a second ambulance to leave Spears’ property shortly after her own, this one reportedly transporting a child. Reports state that it headed in the same direction as Brit’s.
The police were called to the scene at around 8 p.m. and were joined by several other police cars, a police chopper, a fire truck, and ambulances at 10:30 p.m.
No further details have been released on the events, and as of present no charges have been filed by any party.
