The hits just keep on coming for rapper Remy Ma. The star’s European tour was just nixed, she’s facing up to 25 years in jail and the rapper’s former acquaintance Makeda Barnes-Joseph has filed a $10 million civil lawsuit against her.

The suit comes after Ma was accused of shooting Barnes-Joseph on a street in New York in July during a heated argument regarding money missing from the rapper.

The woman accuses Remy Ma of “willfully, wantonly and maliciously” shooting her, MTV News reports. Barnes-Joseph is also accusing Universal Music Group and Sure Shot Recordings, Remy Ma’s record companies, of encouraging the rapper to act violently in accordance with her image.

However, Remy Ma’sher lawyer reportedly has said the lawsuit is unfounded and that it is just “looking for the deepest pocket it could find”. She also called the suit “irresponsible,” according to MTV News.

Ma is set to go to trial next year for another incident involving gang members and Barnes-Joseph’s boyfriend.
