Note: Chuck Norris’ Tears Do Not Cure Cancer
Everyone’s favourite tough guy is suing the author and publisher of a book titled The Truth About Chuck Norris in attempt to protect his image.
Chuck Norris is requesting monetary compensation for “trademark infringement, unjust enrichment and privacy rights,” CBC reports.
The book written by Ian Spector reportedly takes myths that have been popularized on the internet for years surrounding Norris’ rugged image and misleads readers into thinking the facts are true, the suit claims.
The myths include giving the Walker, Texas Ranger star “super-human abilities” by making statements like: “Chuck Norris’s tears cure cancer, Chuck Norris can charge a cell phone by rubbing it against his beard and Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.”
Norris feels the book promotes false information about him and depicts him as racist and unlawful.
The 67-year-old legendary actor says he never authorized the Penguin Group to use his name or image even though the book’s preface thanks Norris for “playing along.”
