Canadian Ladies Can’t Get Enough Nods
There will be no shortage a Canadian women at this year’s Grammy Awards.
Canada’s own Feist has been getting some serious Grammy buzz. The Calgary born crooner is leading the race among Canadian performers to rack up the most Grammy nods this year.
With an impressive four nominations, Feist will challenge Brit-pop luminary Amy Winehouse for the award for Best Pop Album of the year.
However, when it comes to Best Female Pop Vocal, it’s every Canadian for herself. Feist’s “1,2,3,4″ will run against fellow Canadian songstress Nelly Furtado, who was nominated for her smash hit “Say it Right.”
Furtado is also up for an award for her collaborative stylings on “Give It To Me”, the summer club song that also featured her close friend and producer Timbaland, and heartthrob Justin Timberlake.
“The Grammy Awards are like the senior prom of the music business, only they happen every single year,” an excited Furtado gushed in a statement. “Who wouldn’t want to be invited to the prom? I was prom queen in high school, so I am thrilled and honoured.”
