Eat your heart out Britney, Alicia knows how to sell an album.

Alicia Keys’ brand new album “As I Am” reached the top of the charts this week. According to this week’s Nielsen SoundScan ratings, the singer sold a whopping 742,000 copies in her first week of sales alone – the only artist to beat her out this year was Kanye West.

However, the impressive sales don’t come as a surprise to the 9-time-Grammy-winning artist. The confident performer was reportedly determined to make a world-class comeback when she took the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this year.

And it is only expected that the singer’s albums sales will continue to soar as the holiday season peeks around the corner. Fans hope Keys can ho, ho, hold on to her title for as long as she can.
