R&B crooner Ne-Yo has gotten the boot from R. Kelly’s tour. However, representatives from Ne-Yo’s camp have reported that R. Kelly did not have a hand in the decision.

Only two shows into the tour that kicked off on November 14th, Ne-Yo’s people received word Tuesday that his contract to finish the tour through to the end of January, was over.

“This was a contractual issue between Ne-Yo and the promoter, not Kelly’s decision at all,” a spokesperson for Kelly’s camp reported to MTV News.

“I am disappointed that I won’t be able to perform for my fans,” Ne-Yo was quoted in a statement. “I love being onstage in front of fans because of the immediate feedback you get. You know right away if they are feeling you, and they were really feeling our show.”
