So you find yourself some free time at the end of the day, for once. Alas you’re torn between two equally enticing activities. You could tune into MTV for the latest in music television before bed, or you can plug in the old XBOX and game yourself to sleep. Decisions, decisions.

But not anymore.

Monday, at the stroke of midnight, MTV officially launched their very first exclusive game to XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 entitled “Rock Band”. The game centres around an imaginary four piece rock band called Hellenor Brozevelt.

The game presents a score-based karaoke challenge using four instruments, similar to the very popular game Guitar Hero. Coincidentally, MTV’s much anticipated game was designed and developed by Harmonix, the same great people behind Guitar Hero.

Just in time for the holiday season, “Rock Band” is being sold in gaming stores all across the United States, and will hit shelves in Canada on December 20.
