Fall Out Boy to Go Folk: Fact or Fiction?
Blogs and busy tongues have been rampantly spreading rumors that rockers Fall Out Boy have gone soft.
While accepting the Humanitarian Award for Invisible Children and the Cosmo Girl Born to Lead Awards, Pete Wentz, the bassist, mentioned something about folk music.
Naturally, this slip caused somewhat of an underground media frenzy, sending bloggers straight to hearsay heaven. Falso rumors that the next F.O.B. album, which they are currently working on in the studio, will be a folk album began to spread over the internet.
Determined to se the record straight, Wentz blogged right back saying that “contrary to the heavy blogging, the new record is not gonna be a folk record. It’s gonna be rap-rock.”
Collaborations with Kanye West should have been a direct indicator of this, and will also be cover R Kelly’s R & B classic, “I Believe I can Fly.”
Since these multitaskers are still touring around promoting their last album, “Infinity on High,” which was released earlier last year, no predictions for a release date of their next album has yet been decided.
