Amy Winehouse’s Husband Lands in Court; Singer Sobs
The ongoing saga that is Amy Winhouse’s life continues. But this time, it’s not the troubled singer that is making headlines; it’s her equally embattled husband, Blake Fielder Civil.
The 25-year-old was arrested for allegedly planning a $400,000 plot to fix a trial after the Thursday raid of the defiant drug-loving duo’s London home.
According to the Daily Mirror, police took Fielder-Civil into custody in East London as Winehouse, who was present for the arrest, cried, “I want to go with him.”
The singer reportedly tearfully hugged and kissed her husband while saying “Baby, I love you. Baby, I’ll be fine.”
It’s all very dramatic.
Currently, Fielder-Civil, is in custody at a North London police station, and is accused of attempting to halt a trial in which he and a friend allegedly violently assaulted a bartender on June 20. The victim was reportedly offered $400,000 to withdraw his police statement.
Mr. Winehouse and the three other accused could face life sentences if they are convicted.
“Amy’s totally distraught,” said Georgette Fielder-Civil, Blake’s mother, according to MTV News. “She kept saying to me, ‘I love him. He’s done nothing wrong.’ She was really upset because she couldn’t go and visit him. Amy has told me she’ll stand by Blake whatever happens.”
