Musician, heartthrob, writer, and now foodie. John Mayer has announced that his blog will now focus strictly on the world, and more specifically his world, of food.

The singer, who has been posting on a blog regularly where fans can read about his day-to-day experiences, has decided to target his prose at his diet. He will also be including photographs of the food that he will take himself.

Food journalism is a hot field right now, and in past years as well. Writers like Ruth Riechl of the New York Times and Jeffrey Steingarten of Vogue have built their careers on the gift of grub. Perhaps Mayer will follow in their footsteps.

The singer is smart about his scribblings though. Worrying that online tabloids and other food blogs might rip off his entries, he has announced that he will be digitally watermarking his pictures in hopes to stop reproduction of his work.
