Katie Holmes Runs NYC Marathon
Following in the cross trainers of celebs like Oprah Winfrey and P.Diddy, Katie Holmes ran the annual New York City Marathon on Sunday.
Mrs. Tom Cruise sported a dark FDNY baseball cap and purple tank top throughout the 26.2 mile race and labored to the finish line with 40,000 other long-distance runners.
About 15 miles in, the former Dawson’s Creek star got encouragement from her superstar husband, who quickly kissed her as she ran by.
Holmes finished the race in five hours and 29 minutes, exactly an hour behind Oprah’s time.
Martin Lel of Kenya was the first runner across the tape in Central Park, finishing just over two hours and nine minutes.
Cruise, the couple’s daughter, Suri, his mother and her parents greeted a tired Holmes as she crossed the finish line in Central Park.
Among the other notable names competing this year was cycling legend Lance Armstrong.
