‘Tell-Tale Heart’ To Beat For Moviegoers
Ridley and Tony Scott are back with another horror film – this time, it’s an adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poetic classic short story “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
Dubbed “Tell-Tale,” the film will be a modern reimagining of the story, first published in 1843, about a killer haunted by the incessant sound of his victim’s heart.
The movie is described as “a psychological thriller that sets Poe’s haunting tale against the backdrop of modern science,” with a tone halfway between “Jacob’s Ladder” and “Marathon Man.”
The Scott brothers will produce and be involved in developing the film, which is budgeted at $20 million.
Michael Cuesta will direct, having previously helmed the films “L.I.E.” and “12 and Holding,” as well as episodes of “Six Feet Under” and “Dexter.”
Casting is underway on the movie, which is scheduled to film in 2008.
It’s a return to the horror genre for the Scott brothers. Ridley Scott directed “Alien” in 1979 and Tony Scott directed “The Hunger” in 1983.
Recently, Ridley Scott directed and produced “American Gangster,” which opens in theatres Friday. Tony Scott directed the 2006 thriller “Deja-Vu” and will begin shooting a remake of “The Taking of Pelham One Two Three,” starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta, in 2008.
