Robert Goulet Dead at 73
Celebrated singer and actor Robert Goulet passed away Tuesday night at the age of 73. Perhaps best known by younger generations as one of Will Ferrell’s zany characters on SNL, Goulet appealed to an older generation of loyal, respecting fans – and will be missed greatly.
In the last months of his life, Goulet suffered from the lung disease pulmonary fibrosis and passed away from the disease at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre surrounded by family. According to his wife, Vera Goulet, her husband had been waiting to hear about whether or not he would be a safe candidate for a lung transplant. Sadly, he wasn’t alive long enough to find out.
As it turns out, he was.
Goulet will be remembered for his various accomplishments including a Tony Award for best actor in 1968 for his work in the Broadway musical ‘The Happy Time’.
