The last living member of the illustrious Rat Pack, also known as “The Frown Prince”, took his final bow on Wednesday night. Joey Bishop passed away in the comfort of his California home at the age of 89. His cause of death was reportedly a combination of a number of different things, and his reps have chosen not to specify.

A friend to Rat Pack kings Frank Sinatra, Humphrey Bogart and Sammy Davis Jr. – Bishop, born Joseph Gottleib, was the last to go. He will be remembered for his unparalleled wit and sense of humour, as the comedian kept cracking up friends, family, and anyone who would listen until the very end.

Happily married to his wife Sylvia Ruzga for 58 years until her death in 1999, he is survived by their son Larry, a comic actor, director and producer, his two grandchildren and Nora Garabotti, his companion.
