Free Concert To Honour Canadian Opera Company Director
A free concert will take place in Toronto next month to celebrate the life of opera visionary Richard Bradshaw.
The late general director of the Canadian Opera Company will be honoured at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on Nov. 1, with a show featuring a mixed program of choruses, orchestral pieces and opera arias.
The concert will feature the COC orchestra that Bradshaw led, as well as baritone Russell Braun, bass Robert Gleadow, soprano Joni Henson, soprano Adrianne Pieczonka, bass Robert Pomakov and mezzo-soprano Krisztina Szabo, among others.
Tickets will be available beginning Oct. 27 at the Four Seasons Centre Box Office on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are limited to two per person.
The British-born Bradshaw conducted more than 60 operas during his 18 years with the COC.
He died Aug. 16 in Toronto of an apparent heart attack, at age 63.
