Owen Wilson Emerges for First Time After Suicide Attempt
It has been only six weeks since reports of his attempted suicide graced the front pages of both tabloids and newspapers alike, but Owen Wilson found the strength to make his first public appearance at the premier of his film “The Darjeeling Limited” on Thursday in L.A.
Director Wes Anderson initiated a very warm welcome for Wilson at the premier, calling him his “best friend”. Wilson avoided the throngs of inquisitive paparazzi and reporters by skipping the red carpet and sneaking in via the back entrance.
Since his suicide attempt, Wilson has maintained a fairly low profile – and Thursday night was no different. Sitting hidden in the front row of the theatre, Wilson quietly bowed out of the screening only moments after it had begun. His co-stars were supportive of his brief appearance, and Wilson refused to comment to the media on both the movie as well as his personal life when exiting the event.
Hopefully it won’t be too long before Wilson is back to his typical antics, cracking up audiences around the world.
