Beastie Boys, Madonna and Other Nominated to Join Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
And the nominees are?.
Madonna, the Beastie Boys, Leonard Cohen and a few other deserving musical pioneers have all been nominated to join other legendary greats in The Rock Roll Hall of Fame.
There were nine nominees in total announced on Thursday Sept. 27, however only five will be honoured on Mar. 10, 2008, at the prestigious New York Waldorf Astoria hotel.
Some of the other big names that have been selected for consideration are Donna Summer, John Mellencamp, Afrika Bambaataa, and Dave Clark Five.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and is known for making tribute to big some of rock’s most influential and talented performers. Some artists that have already been indicted are James Brown, The Beach Boys, Muddy Waters, Johnny Cash, Cream, The Police, Fleetwood Mac, U2, The Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath and Blondie.
So far, none of this year’s nominees have given any statements on the honour.
