American Idol Star’s Battery & Drugs Trial Rescheduled
A judge has postponed former AMERICAN IDOL finalist JESSICA SIERRA’s battery and drugs charges trial after hearing the singer is being treated at a
California rehab clinic.
The 21-year-old, who made it to the final 10 in the 2005 series of the U.S.
reality show, stands accused of hitting a man with a heavy glass at a cafe in
Tampa, Florida in April (07). She was also charged with possession of cocaine.
Sierra’s lawyer John Fitzgibbons last week (ends31Aug07) told a Tampa judge that his client has been in rehab since July (07) and is unlikely to leave
anytime soon. The judge rescheduled the hearing for late November (07).
Sierra, who was released on $11,500 (£5,750) bail, has pleaded not guilty to
the charges. (GES/WNWC/KL)
