It was a night filled with past and future Idols on the results show of Canadian Idol this week.

Past Idol competitors - including first season winner Ryan Malcolm and second season winner Kalan Porter and the third runner up-of season two, Jacob Hoggard - performed on this week’s hour-long results show.

Hoggard’s band, Hedley, was the first to perform, followed by Malcolm and his new band, Low Level Flight, before we got to see the Idols go home.

“This is so cool,” Jaydee Bixby said, as he rode in a parade in his honour in his hometown of Drumheller, AB.

Following the tape, Jaydee performed for the crowd.

When Carly Rae went home to Mission, BC, she said it was “flattering” that so many people wanted to interview her, but the highlight for her was performing at a show she did while home in BC.

“It was my favourite performance, ever in life,” she said about the concert.

Carly Rae then performed “Torn,” which she had done on the top eight week.

Brian Melo’s return to Hamilton, ON

“When I was a kid, I used to go to the boys and girls club, it helped me be the person I was today,” he said about his experience with the East Kiwanis Boys’ & Girls’ Club, before walking in to the club where he received a screaming ovation from supporters.

Brain was also given a homecoming at the Winona Peach Festival, where he also performed.

“Hamilton has just shown me so much support, it’s something I’ll never forget,” he said.

Brian then took the stage with his song from the top eight week, “She Talks to Angels.”

Kalan Porter then took the stage to promote his sophmore CD.

Then things got down to business and the top two was announced to be Brian Melo and Jaydee Bixby - as I predicted last night.

Next week’s final performance show will be on Monday at 9 p.m., with the results show on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
