Tarantino Turns Down Hawaii Five-O Remake
QUENTIN TARANTINO was horrified when studio bosses suggested he directs the big-screen version of cult ’70s show HAWAII FIVE-O – he hates the series.
Warner Bros. Pictures are currently developing a movie version of the Jack Lord-starring TV show, which ended in 1980 after 12 years.
He says, “My producing partner at the time Lawrence Bender was hanging out with some dude from Fox or Warners or whatever, and they said I should stop working on what I was doing, because I’d be so into this.
“I tried to watch the old TV show, but it sucks. I don’t even like Hawaii.”
