LINDSAY LOHAN’s father MICHAEL fears jail will destroy the actress, after she was arrested for drunk driving for the second time in just two months.

Lohan, 21, faces a possible custodial sentence after she failed a police sobriety test in the early hours of Tuesday (24Jul07).

Under California law, repeat DUI offenders are served harsher punishments – and Lohan could be facing jail time.

But Michael Lohan – who has served a number of prison sentences – insists a spell in jail would do his daughter more harm than good.

He tells Access Hollywood, “I think the first 24 – 48 hours of any jail time is good enough to serve a person. It’s a very, very trying process.” (IG/WNWCAXH/LJ)
