Winehouse And Monkeys Among Mercury Nominees
Singer AMY WINEHOUSE and rock group ARCTIC MONKEYS are among the 12 nominees for the 2007 Nationwide Mercury Prize.
Winehouse and Arctic Monkeys’ second albums – Back To Black and Favourite Worst Nightmare – were announced on the shortlist at a conference at London’s The Hospital venue on Tuesday.
British bookmakers William Hill have given 4/1 odds that either acts take home the coveted prize on September 4.
Arctic Monkeys took home the gong last year for their debut disc Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, while 2003’s winner, London rapper Dizzee Rascal is up for his third album Maths & English.
