Harry Potter Breaks US Box Office Record
HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX has taken a record-breaking $12 million at midnight screenings in the U.S.
The figure is the most made at the box office for a Wednesday opening midnight run since The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King returned $8 million in 2003.
The fifth installment of the boy wizard movie doubled the takings of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the previous film in the series, which took $6 million at midnight screenings in 2005.
