British actress BILLIE PIPER had to pulled out of a performance of her new London play TREATS on Friday night after being struck down by a mystery illness.
The former DOCTOR WHO star, 24, was reportedly rushed to hospital just minutes before the curtain went up at the West End’s Garrick Theatre.
The audience was then informed that an understudy would be stepping in to perform Piper’s role.
One theatre-goer said, “It was a complete shock. We didn’t even have time to take it in before she show started.”
In Treats, Piper stars opposite her real life boyfriend LAURENCE FOX. The play focuses on a love triangle and is set in 1970s London.
