Bang & Olufsen, the Danish provider of high end home theaters and multi-room music systems, adds BeoVox 1 to its loudspeaker portfolio. BeoVox 1 represents a built-in loudspeaker solution that fits into hallways or rooms that do not have much space. It can be completely concealed in the walls, ceiling, or bookcases without any clutter. BeoVox 1 is also water-resistant, making it acceptable for use in bathrooms, kitchens, or even outside on the terrace. Its slim design allows for many flexible placement options.

A small switch next to the treble unit allows one to increase the treble performance to three different levels to compensate for its placement in the room. As treble is typically very directional, one may want to increase or attenuate the treble performance to get the best listening experience if BeoVox 1 is placed up high.

Most in-wall speakers are either round or square. BeoVox 1 features an unconventionally clean, oval design. It comes with a black or white front grill, making it easy to match against most walls or ceiling decor. The grill perforation has been designed for high quality acoustic performance, with no “half” or “cut” holes at the edges. The paint process is applied to the grill using a rotary atomizer, which gives close spray-pattern control so paint is only applied to the surface and does not penetrate into the holes of the grill. This ensures full control of the acoustic performance, as the size of the holes has a great effect on the loudspeaker’s sound delivery.
