Listening to the advice of close friends and family, pop star-turned-professional partier Britney Spears has entered a rehab center, according to Extra.

However, TMZ has reported that Spears has left the rehab center.

She “refused” to stay and checked out 24 hours after checking in, the web site reported, and Spears is on her way back to Los Angeles.

People magazine reported that the mother of two checked into Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Centre in Anitigua two or three days ago. People also reported that she checked out shortly after.

Meanwhile, Spears’s reps have told Access Hollywood that none of this is true.

All this comes days after her personal assistant, Felicia Culotta, wrote in an email Tuesday that Spears’s friends and family have been trying to get her help.

“WE (as in her Family and nearest and dearest—ALL of whom are NOT on the payroll anymore!!) are doing EVERYTHING in our power to get help for Britney and all in our power to NOT pad the bottom or move the bottom, so when she does indeed hit rock bottom, she’ll stand up and walk away from this whole fiasco a new, confident, changed, career driven Britney like we all knew and loved,” she wrote in an email to That Other Blog.

“It’s been a hard reality for me to face. I have lived my best example daily, and that is ALL I’m capable of. To see what’s transpiring now, makes me feel a failure, defeated. I LOVED and BELIEVED in what I was a part of for the past 10 years and was so incredibly proud of Britney and all she’d become.”
