FORMER S CLUB 7 singer JO O’MEARA contemplated suicide after her stint on CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER – and has called for the “cruel” British reality show to be axed.

The REACH FOR THE STAR singer admits she thought of taking her own life but was “too wimpish to go through with it.”

The pop star was accused of racially abusing eventual winner Bollywood star SHILPA SHETTY on the show last month – a claim she denies – and says she is now seeing a therapist.

“I don’t think you can get much lower. The whole thing has been so unfair and so cruel and that I’ve not been portrayed as the person I really am. I can’t even go out. I’ve been locked in a room for a week.

“I feel if this is what a TV show does to people then it shouldn’t be a TV show.”

And O’Meara admits she would love to meet up with Shetty for clear the air talks. She adds, “I’m not a racist person, I never ever have been.

“I would like to see her again – for us to sit down and talk and sort it out once and for all.”
