ROBERT REDFORD has demanded an apology from US politicians, claiming PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH’s government exploited public support during the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

The 70-year-old actor used his opening night address on Thursday at Utah’s Sundance Film Festival, the largest gathering of independent movie-makers in the US, to criticize the government – and appeal for a public apology.

He fumed, “We put all our concerns on hold to let the leaders lead. I think we’re owed a big, massive apology.”
