Prince Harry reportedly has plans to head to Iraq in May. London’s Sun newspaper quoted the prince’s girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, as saying “Haz is off to war.”

Harry, a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry of the British Army, will join his unit in the war. He will be stationed near Basra and will likely be on border patrol duty.

London’s Daily Telegraph reports that the 22-year-old prince is determined to get in on the action but it won’t be easy. Many fear having the royal caught in the line of fire, where he may attract attention and put himself and other soldiers in more danger.

The Ministry of Defense, reports the Sun, says the final decision on whether Harry will be allowed fight has yet been made.
