David Beckham Sells Phones in Japan
Soccer star David Beckham stopped by Japan on Friday to promote Motorola’s hot new cell phone the MOTORAZR. Beckham touched down to officially launch sales of the phone.
First, he hawked the phone on Fuji-TV’s highly-rated Best Moments in Sports 2006 program with Japanese sportscaster Tomoaki Ogura. Not only did Beckham show off the phone’s three colours, he also gave viewers a look at a customized “MOTORAZR tattoo keitei by David Beckham” that will be auctioned off online to raise money for UNICEF.
Afterwards, Beckham hosted a MOTORAZR fashion show at the Roppongi Hills Arena where fans were treated to Beckham-approved MOTORAZR prizes and giveaways.
Finally, he made a stop in the Shibuya shopping district for Motorola’s “Touch and Try” event and told the crowd, “one of the great things about my job is that I get to travel all around the world, and wherever I go, you can be sure of one thing – the people who are really stylish carry a MOTORAZR.
“The Japanese people are some of the most stylish in the world, and you’ve proven it by making MOTORAZR the number-one seller,” Beckham said.
MOTORAZR has been on sale in Japan for two weeks, and is in available in pink, black, and silver.
