Pink Calls For Wool Boycott
Pop singer Pink joins Canadian Pamela Anderson as a spokesperson for PETA.
E! Online reports that the pop singer will team up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, in order to begin a boycott against the Australian wool industry because of the fact that farmers there practice “mulesing,” where the skin is cut from around the rear ends of sheep to prevent fly infestations.
Pink lends her voice and is a narrator to the graphic PETA video on the practice, which shows the farmers as they try to cut the skin from struggling sheep.
“The wool trade uses methods so sadistic that it makes you consider clearing your closet of any animal products,” Pink says in the video.
