Forget the radio – the latest way to hear new music is by picking up the phone. Montreal indie rockers The Arcade Fire has made their latest single, “Intervention,” available exclusively through a pre-recorded telephone message. Fans can listen to the first track from the band’s upcoming album “Neon Bible,” by dialing 866-636-6242, extension 7777.

The ingenious marketing technique is working – the song is gaining buzz and was played on BBC Radio on Friday in its “Hottest Record in the World Today” segment.

The band has also performed the song live in recent shows so another way to hear the tune will be to catch the Arcade Fire at an upcoming concert. They are currently scheduled to play London’s St. John’s Church and Porchester Hall in the new year.

The new album, “Neon Bible” is slated to drop in March or April.
