Princes Plan Tribute to Princess Diana
Princes William and Harry have confirmed they will organize a concert in honour of their late mother, Princess Diana.
It will take place July 1, 2007, in Wembley Staidum on what was to be her 46th birthday.
“We wanted to have this big concert with, you know, full of energy, full of the sort of fun and happiness which I know she would have wanted. And on her birthday as well, it’s got to be the best birthday present she ever had…The main purpose is to celebrate and to have fun and to remember her in a fun way,” said William, in a TV interview Tuesday.
The star-studded event will host an astounding 60,000-person audience who will see Elton John, Duran Duran, Brian Ferry, Joss Stone and tunes by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
A memorial service is to follow on August 31st, the 10th anniversary of her death.
Princess Diana and her boyfriend Dodi al-Fayed died in a car crash in Paris.
