Paltrow Denies Anti-American Comments
Oscar winning Actress Gwyneth Paltrow had a lot of explaining to do after comments she made were misconstrued as anti-American.
After holding a press conference in Spanish, the Portugese publication, Diario de Noticiasthe, wrote the actress as saying, “British are much more intelligent and civilised than the Americans.”
The 34-year-old actress, who’s married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, said what she meant was, Europe is an older culture and Europeans work to live whereas Americans live to work.
The mother of two insisted that she’s proud of her heritage. “I feel so lucky to be American. I feel so proud to be American.”
She also added, “Obviously, I need to go back to seventh-grade Spanish.”
