Geri Halliwell Blames Mel B For Failed Spice Girls Reunion
Geri Halliwell has blamed former bandmate Mel B for wrecking a Spice Girls reunion.
Geri – better known as Ginger Spice while in the band – insists it was Mel B who did not want the popular girl group to reunite for last year’s Live 8 charity concert.
She said: “We were all ready apart from Mel B.”
The 34-year-old star – who gave birth to her first child, Bluebell Madonna, six months ago – is doubtful a reunion will ever happen.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “Victoria said maybe it’s time to move on and I think she’s got a point. Maybe it’s better to keep the Spice Girls as a memory but never say never. A taxi driver said to me we could still do a reunion even if one of us didn’t want to.”
Geri – who quit the band in 1998 – has no ambition to make another solo album, because she feels as though she’s had her time in the spotlight. She said: “As far as music is concerned, I feel like I’ve given it my best. When I see how desperate people are for that chance, I realise I’ve had my turn and now I have to let it go.”
