EBay is restricted the number of PlayStation 3s and Nintendo Wiis that can be sold on the site.

Bloomberg News Agency is reporting that only established sellers will be allowed to sell the two game consoles which are being released in North America this week.

As well, a seller can only sell one at a time, and must post a picture with proof of receipt of the console and a promise to ship to the winning bidder within 30 days.

“These products are in high demand and short supply. You can see demand driving price,” eBay spokesperson Catherine England said to Bloomberg.

So far, nearly 1,200 PS3s have pre-sold on eBay, while nearly 2,200 Wiis have pre-sold on eBay, both items going for nearly double their suggested retail price.
