PlayStation 3 Launches In Japan
This year’s hot Christmas gift is Sony’s PlayStation 3, and fans in Japan were the first to get their hands on the video game console, which made its big debut there on Saturday.
Crowds lined up for hours at Tokyo electonics retailer Bic Camera to check out the new PlayStation, which sold out before doors even opened at 7 a.m.
A hundred thousand PS3’s are now available for purchase in Japan. Another 400,000 machines will make it to the U.S. on Nov. 17. European fans will be the last to see the consoles, which won’t go on sale there until March.
Gaming enthusiasts are most excited by the crystal-clear graphics and life-like games that the new PlayStation supports.
