Green Day To Re-Issue Early Albums
Newer Green Day fans can catch up on the band’s history when the punk rockers’ first two albums are reissued on December 19.
The trio’s Reprise Records label will re-release 1991’s “1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours” and 1992’s “Kerplunk!” – both of which were independently released on Lookout! Records.
“1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours” will feature bonus material including live performances from 1990-91, a radio interview from the same time, show flyers, and handwritten lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong.
Green Day released their major-label debut “Dookie” to overwhelming success in 1994. It went on to sell 7.8 million copies in the U.S. to date.
